If you have suffered jawbone atrophy, you may have been disqualified from traditional implant treatment.
At his Minneapolis, MN, practice, Dr. Tim J. Clavin can coordinate your treatment for All-on-4® dental implants which require fewer posts and often eliminate the need for bone grafting. After treatment, he can provide you with a highly realistic denture.
Why should you consider All-on-4 for your implant-supported denture?
Advantages of All-on-4:
Shorter Timeline
Without bone grafting, the treatment is typically much shorter. You will also receive a temporary denture the day of surgery.
Functional Smile
Your implant-supported denture will be exceptionally stable and repair the function and aesthetics of your smile.
Lower Cost
Since fewer implant posts and no preparatory procedures are needed, treatment is often more affordable.
How does All-on-4 work?
With the All-on-4 technique, a full denture is attached to the jaw with just four angled implants.

Explore Your Candidacy
You may be a candidate for All-on-4 implants if you are missing some or all of the teeth in your upper or lower jaw, or both. You will need sufficient jawbone tissue to support the implants, but if you have experienced some jaw atrophy, you may still be a candidate.
Dr. Clavin and our team can assess your candidacy during an initial consultation. We will take x-rays of your jaw and Dr. Clavin will perform an oral health evaluation to determine if All-on-4 implants are the right treatment for you. Patients who smoke, suffer from uncontrolled diabetes, or have periodontal disease may not immediately qualify for dental implants of any kind.
The All-on-4 technique allows a wider range of patients to experience the benefits of dental implants.
Receiving All-on-4 Implants
If Dr. Clavin determines you are a candidate for the All-on-4 technique, he can coordinate with a trusted periodontal practice in the same building. Your periodontist will numb your gums and jawbone and then make small incisions before inserting the titanium posts. During the implantation process, your periodontist will angle the back posts slightly to achieve greater surface contact between the jaw and implants. This positioning is one reason why All-on-4 can support a denture with fewer implants. Once the implants are in place, your periodontist will close the incisions with sutures.
In most cases, your periodontist can immediately attach a temporary denture to wear while your jaw heals. This can take four to six months. Once the implants and jaw have become fused, Dr. Clavin will attach your permanent denture for a fully restored smile.
Benefits of Replacing Missing Teeth
